You should always be prepared for inclement weather. Having some simple items on hand will ensure comfort and safety.
The American Red Cross suggests that homeowners have the following items on hand:
- First aid kit and essential medications.
- Battery-powered radio, flashlight, and extra batteries.
- Canned food and can opener.
- Bottled water (at least one gallon of water per person per day to last at least 3 days).
- Warm clothing, including boots, mittens, and a hat.
Because cordless phones do not work without electricity, keeping a corded phone handy may be a good idea.
Looking for a way to meet your neighbors? Trying to make new friends? Need something to do? Join a Lake Arrowhead Committee.
The ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE has three primary purposes:
*to review the ACC forms and make recommendations to the Board
*to investigate complaints or violations
*to identify circumstances that would benefit from a general rule and make recommendations to the Board.
The LAKE ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE manages the lake from the shoreline out; including lake conditions, fish, docks and overhanging foliage.
STREETS/MAINTANCE COMMITTEE maintains roads, culverts, street signs, drainage and greenbelt areas; and Club properties not specifically covered by other committees.
The RECREATION/LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE organizes Community functions and events; maintains the playground equipment, tennis and basketball courts; and works for the beautification of Club properties.
Call the office or send an email if you are interested in joining. Sign-up sheets can also be found in the Longhouse.
Did you know that the fire department reports pollution fires to ORCAA? There's no need to call 911 for non-emergencies when you can call or report to ORCAA. It has the resources to follow-up and issue fines. Download a complaint form here or pick one up at the Longhouse.
